Top Shelf Jewlery owner Barbara Hoff employs a staff of 11 women who create the pieces from stampings cast from pre-war molds to which they add Swarovski crystals imported from Germany. Some are no bigger than a pinhead, Hoff said while wearing one of her necklaces. Originally we did very simplified antique reproductions, Hoff said. That developed into more intricate work; lots of soldering, hand finishing metal and hand setting stones.
